Since 1999, The American Diabetes Association has partnered with the National Father’s Day Council to host the Father of the Year Awards dinner. Each year we recognize numerous men from across the nation for the outstanding strength, commitment and love they exhibit as fathers. These men have not only attained success in their chosen field or endeavor, but carved out time to teach and mature their children while also becoming good citizens and proud members of the community. Diabetes affects nearly 24 million children and adults nationwide. The more than $20 million that has been raised to date from Father of the Year Events will help the American Diabetes Association fund essential advocacy, education and research initiatives.
